Real Estate Investing: Know Your Market

Real Estate is a time tested way savoy people have been investing their money.   However, it is important to be careful and educated when investing in real estate.  Knowing your market is a very important step in investing wisely in real estate. 

Know Your Market

1. Choose a type of investment:  What type of real estate investment are you considering?  Single Family Rentals?  Student housing?  Commercial?  Agriculture? 
2. Choose Areas:  What areas support your type of investment type?  Explore different options in your area with a Realtor.
3. Familiarize yourself with the areas:  Again, use a Realtor to see what is available in the area and how much units are selling for. 
4. Be ready to strike:  If you are familiar with an area, you will know when a good deal comes a long.  You should be ready to move quickly.  This can mean being pre-qualified with a mortgage company.
