Preston lake is a development conveniently located just outside of Harrisonburg with quick access to Route 33 and Stone Spring Rd. The subdivision offers a variety of upscale homes including single family, duplexes, villas, and town homes. This variety in homes allows the development to offer homes from the low $200's all the way up to the $500's as well as single family building lots.
Club House and other Amenities
As of last month, the club house has been officially completed and open for residents to use. The club house offers a gym, conference room, warming kitchen, game room and a large covered porch overlooking the lake. This space is for owners to rent for private parties or to use at their leisure.
Other amenities include: Parks, Green space, playground, walking trail around the lake. The development plans to make more walking trails and a Dog Park.
Preston Lakes has plans to create a shopping experience as well as a residential experience. They have plans that include a grocery store. My understanding was that the grocery store had not been decided upon yet. So, I took it upon myself to suggest that Trader Joe's be built in the area. According to the developers, they've tried and Trader Joe's continues to not be interested in the Harrisonburg area. Ultimately, the retail end of the Preston Lake area is yet to be determined. They are encouraging retailers and restaurants to inquire about possible opportunities. You can find out more here.
