Getting Ready For Snow

Time will tell if winter storm Helena will amount to much in the Valley but it is smart to be prepared for snow in winter.  It may be time to upgrade the trashcan lid or snow shovel you eked by with last year to a better snow shovel or snow blower.

 You can also consider an ice melter to help with slippery sidewalks and driveways.  If you go this route, look for magnesium chloride or calcium chloride as they will work in low temperatures and are better for the environment. 

After you have your drive way plowed and de-iced, you will want to make sure you have an adequate ice scraper for your cars.  You may also want to consider a snow broom to get excess snow off the roof.
