Eastern Mennonite School (EMS) has purchased the Menno Media building and plans to renovate, demolish, and build an Eastern Mennonite Elementary School (EMES) in it's place. The project will gut the existing building, demolish or move the current studio, and add on too the existing structure. Here is how EMS describes the project: "Eastern Mennonite School is creating a K-12 campus by renovating and constructing new space for EMES, its K-5 division. The combined comprehensive campus gives students of all ages access to a premiere auditorium, modern classrooms, expansive athletic fields, a gymnasium, and food services. Additionally, the location within Park View fosters partnerships with the University and Virginia Mennonite Retirement Communities and offers quick access to Park Woods for additional natural hands-on learning and creative play opportunities." For more information click here, or contact Mike Stoltzfus, Director of Business Affairs Proposed Bridge Site
The bridge will be connecting the existing campus to the new EMES site. While the two sites are not far from each other, the path and bridge will help make the entire campus feel more connected.
