A New High School or a New Harrisonburg Community?

As we have been hearing since before the boom, Harrisonburg is growing!  That being said, some new developments still come up from time to time within the city limits.  

There is currently 17.2 acres for sale across from the high school.  The  land is zoned R1 which means it could be a single family home development.   

However, if you have been paying attention to the news as of late, there have been a lot of discussion about the overcrowding at the current high school.  There are a lot differing opinions about what should be done.  One of the ideas I have heard would be a possible new building at this lot and the high school would then be split in some fashion.  

This land has been listed for 36 days and the City has not purchased it.  What do you think should happen to the land?
